Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September of 1983 in Worthington, Ohio, is an American actress. Maggie Grace is most well-known for her roles as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills as well on ABC's Lost television show. Maggie Grace, originally from Worthington located in Ohio left high school in order to move in Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. She landed her debut role in the film, Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. The film for television Murder in Greenwich, in which she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford, a character she played in Lost between 2004 and 2005, was nominated for an Screen Actors Guild Award. After leaving the show, Grace would like to be more prominently in film having been cast as the opposite of Tom Welling in The Fog in 2005. In addition, she appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) as well as opposite Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. She reprised the role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace reprised Shannon's role on Lost for two more episodes, including the series final. In 2013, she was in the seventh season Californication. She portrays Faith an actress in a group and as a muse to the stars who captures the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She is part of Gyllenhaal's family and is the elder cousin of Jake Gyllenhaal. She started her acting career in the teen years with minor parts in a few of his films. She also appeared alongside her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). In 2002, she starred as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal's leading roles in Secretary, an erotico-romantic comedy, and Sherrybaby (a film) earned her nominations for Golden Globe Award. The year 2006 was the time she had a number of films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However it was her performance as Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). For her performance as a single mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she appeared in dramas and comedies which included Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012 Her other roles are as an agent of Secret Service in White House Down 2013, as a singer for Secret Service in White House Down 2013, singing in Frank 2014, and the role of a teacher in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she portrays the lead character. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her debut film The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The Lost Daughter was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
